We're back...what a trip. Let me start off by saying that Costa Rica is an amazing country housing incredible people and beautiful scenery. We arrived on Sunday and left on Friday; in between were some of the most amazing days ever.
We saw/did it all: volcanoes, waterfalls, rain forests, hot springs, mud baths, and a canopy tour. Even more wild, all that was in one day! If you ever get the chance to head down, be sure to check out the Premier Fiesta resort and use CAT Tours to see the sites (ask for Santos and Carlos Papaya).
Our balcony overlooked a beautiful black sand beach and mountainous terrain (something pretty exciting happened on that balcony...look out for my next post), it was one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. The resort was awesome and the staff was very accommodating (if you make it down, look for Juan at the pool bar and Arnoldo on the waitstaff).
We saw some pretty cool animals: monkeys, iguanas, and beautiful birds everywhere. It has taken me a while to post this because I wanted to find the time to do a write up that gave Costa Rica the treatment it deserves, but alas, time is short and I am no poet. If anything, simply heed this advice: if you can go, GO. You won't regret it. Also, be sure to check out the pictures.
Update: I created a movie with the full set of images from our trip (including the re-enacted proposal). It is ~50MB in size, so be prepared to wait for it to download. CostaRica2006.wmv (right click and choose 'save target as...' or 'save link as...' to save the file locally)
